About Woof Wisdom

Who we are, how we make things, and how we make money.

Draft note: Everything here is draft wording. It describes the intended policy and must be made true (and checked legally) before launch.

About us

[About text, naming the real people behind the site]

Our editorial standards

We aim for plain English, UK spelling and honesty about uncertainty. We use peer-reviewed veterinary sources and UK charities where we can, and we say so when evidence is limited. We don’t publish doses, home treatment for serious signs, or claims that a product treats or prevents disease. [Link to the full standards document]

How we review health content

The intended process, to be real before launch.

  1. Brief: topic, red-flag signs, UK context.
  2. Draft by a writer, with each factual claim tagged to a source. No unreviewed AI-written medical copy.
  3. Fact-check by a second person against the sources.
  4. Veterinary review by a named, RCVS-registered vet who reads the whole page and signs it off.
  5. Publish with byline, reviewer line, published date, last-updated date and references.
  6. Scheduled re-review, with a review log.
  7. Corrections: a visible way to report an error, fixed fast, with material corrections noted.

Our vet reviewer is kept separate from any decision about affiliate content. [Conflict-of-interest declaration goes here]

Contributors and vet reviewers

[Names, photos, credentials]

Only real people with real credentials will be named. RCVS registration is checked before a vet is named.

How we make money

[Affiliate and advertising disclosure policy goes here. In plain words: what we earn from, and how that never decides what we recommend]

  • No affiliate links, ads or product recommendations on health, grief or memorial pages.
  • Affiliate links appear only in Gear & Reviews, with an upfront “Ad” label.
  • Sponsored or gifted content will be clearly labelled.

[If we join the Amazon Associates programme, the required statement goes here, as per the programme terms]
